NNA - The United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wensland, said that “civilians in Gaza continue to suffer daily from the ravages of conflict amidst terror, displacement and endless suffering,” according to the Palestinian "Wafa" news agency.

He said in a statement: “The cost of this war in terms of lives becomes clearer with every passing day, as we witnessed another devastating raid on a school housing thousands of displaced Palestinians, causing dozens of deaths.”

Wensland urged the necessity of a ceasefire, stressing the United Nations' commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at achieving this goal. He said: "Putting an end to this nightmare is something long overdue."
